Our staff and parents work extremely hard to build a caring community which responds to the needs of all our students.
Forest Lake State School is committed to developing students academically, creatively, culturally, socially and in sporting endeavours.
We also foster a love of learning which we hope stays with them all their lives.
We hope that by working together, the needs of your child will be catered for in a caring, friendly and disciplined environment.

NEW CAR PARK ABOUT TO OPEN! | 22/05/2008 | The long awaited opening of the Woogaroo St car park is most likely to occur within the next fortnight. We're all hoping this new facility will alleviate the traffic and parking bottlenecks around our campus before and after school. More information about designated drop- off and bus parking zones will be forthcoming in next fortnight's newsletter.

GUINNESS WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT | 22/05/2008 | On May 9, the FLSS Year Six Skipping Team and Mr Farinazzo went to QE11 Stadium to attempt to break the current world record of 8 000 people skipping continuously for 3 minutes. The Heart Foundation provided motivation and sample bags for the participants. After a great deal of concentration and perspiration, it was announced that the approximate 25 000 skippers present had broken the record. All the participants stood in a heart formation and did the Mexican Wave. After hours of persistence and support from Mr F this challenging event was a rewarding experience and a great time!

SCHOOL DISCO | 22/05/2008 | Our disco for this term is this Friday 23rd May - Pyjama Party is the theme. So come dressed in your comfy warm PJs. There will be no disco in term 3 due to the fete so if you miss this one, the next won't be until the end of the year. We will be selling hot chips, JJs, drinks and lollies. Also there'll be a sausage sizzle. As usual glowsticks will be available to purchase. Check out the flyer for more information. Entry is only $3. Junior Disco Prep - year 3 starts 6.15pm, Senior Disco starts 7.45pm. Prep students should be supervised by a parent or guardian. We still need some more helpers, so if you are planning on staying with your child (or have some free time), why not help out - just ask to speak to Margie or Heather on the night. Thank you to those who have volunteered already.

ARE YOU ON-LINE FOR OUR NEWSLETTER | 21/11/2007 | Families can receive our school newsletter online by sending their email address to >admin@forelakess.eq.edu.au <mailto:admin@forelakess.eq.edu.au> . We have an ever- growing list of E-newsletter recipients. One of our school's long term goals is to be able to communicate electronically with all school families. If all families were able to receive our newsletter and other school notices via email we'd save many thousands of dollars a year in paper and reprographic costs that could go towards much needed student resources and facility upgrades. Please don't hesitate to communicate with us via the above email address. Your message will be expediently forwarded to the appropriate school staff member.
